Our commitment

Engagedu works with pupils, staff and families every week. We take our responsibility to keep children safe seriously and work in line with the Department for Education’s statutory guidance, Keeping Children Safe in Education.

Much of our work, through the Digital Safeguarding service and the Equilibrium Project, is about helping schools recognise and respond to risks children face online. We hold ourselves to the same standards we help schools reach.

Safer recruitment

Engagedu C.I.C. has carried out all relevant pre-employment checks for every member of staff, including:

• an enhanced DBS check with a check of the children’s barred list;
• identity and right-to-work checks;
• checks of professional qualifications;
• employment history with references;
• EEA restrictions and sanctions checks for teaching staff, introduced in January 2016.

All checks are kept up to date in line with current safeguarding legislation. Schools can ask us to confirm these checks before a visit.

Raising a concern about Engagedu

If you have a safeguarding concern about anything connected with Engagedu, our staff or our sessions, email info@engagedu.co.uk with “Safeguarding concern” in the subject line. Your message will be passed to our designated safeguarding lead as a priority.

You can also contact the local authority designated officer (LADO) for the area where the concern happened.
