Accessibility statement
We want everyone who visits the Engagedu website to be able to find information and get in touch, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

What we’ve done
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This website:
- can be used with a keyboard alone, with a “Skip to content” link and visible focus outlines;
- uses clear headings, landmarks and labelled form fields, so screen readers can navigate it;
- uses Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed for readers with low vision;
- uses text and background colours chosen to meet contrast requirements;
- works when you zoom in to 400% or increase the text size;
- switches off animation if you have turned on “reduce motion” on your device;
- still works if JavaScript is turned off.
Known limitations
We know some parts of the website are not yet fully accessible:
- Some older news posts contain images without text descriptions, and some classroom videos don’t have captions.
- Our termly newsletters are embedded from Microsoft Sway, and some videos from YouTube. We don’t control how accessible those services are. Each newsletter has a link to open it full screen in Sway.
- Some downloads, such as the parent letters (PDF) and the order form (Word), may not be fully accessible to screen readers.
We’re working to fix these. If you need any of this content in another format, please ask.

How we tested this website
This statement is based on our own review of the website during its rebuild in September 2026. It has not yet been independently audited.
